Abstract

Microorganisms play a key role in several important processes, such as the decomposition of organic matter. The quantification of microbial activity has been used as an indicator of soil changes and quality. The objective of this work was to evaluate the microbiological alterations in a Typical Dystrocohesive Yellow Latosol, submitted to different doses of 'Vairo' type biofertilizer. The experiment was carried out with the banana variety 'BRS Platina' (AAAB), in the climatic conditions of the municipality of Cruz das Almas-BA. The experimental design used in the experiment was randomized blocks. The treatments consisted of five doses of the biofertilizer 'Vairo' (0, 100, 180, 280 and 375 mL plant-1 month-1), with ten useful plants per treatment. The microbiological analyzes were carried out in the Microbiology Laboratory belonging to Embrapa Cassava and Fruticultura. The following biological attributes were evaluated: microbial biomass carbon, soil basal respiration and metabolic quotient. The dose of 166 mL plant-1 maximized the carbon of the microbial biomass of the soil cultivated with the 'BRS Platina'.
