Abstract

The present work is a contribution that results from the discussions started in the undergraduate monographic research, while a student of the degree course in Geography at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), and consequently, based on the continuity of studies on the subject developed within the scope of the Laboratory of Studies on Space, Culture and Politics (LECgeo). The study was developed in the Laginha settlement (Serra Talhada/PE), located in the mesoregion of the sertão do Pajeú de Pernambuco, based on the discourse of coexistence with the semiarid region and on the axis that comprises social technologies, having as a central element investigation and discussion. about the existence of a process linked to the appropriation of public policies and/or methodologies of coexistence with the semi-arid region, which allowed residents in the semi-arid territories of Pernambuco new productive arrangements and new dynamics of life, making them autonomous citizens and/or sovereigns of the order water-food.
